The cordless serial adapter comes with a universal AC power adapter with US, European and Australian plug converters. Alternatively, power can be provided from a host device over Pin 9.
From the power jack on the CSA: When supplying DC power to the power jack the following must be noted:
The acceptable supply voltage range for normal operation can be from 3.5 to 5.5 VDC. Absolute max 5.6V.
The Power supply must rise to its final voltage in less than 1mS.
The specs on the physical connector of the power jack is SMK part number LGP3131-0111 and can be found here.
From pin 9 of the DB-9 connector: The acceptable supply voltage can be from 3.5 to 12 VDC. Absolute Max 12V. (Not intended to be connected directly to a vehicle’s electrical system, although a cigarette lighter adapter/DC charger is permissible.)
The power Consumption by the CSA is as follows:
Connected Mode- 40.5 mA (Average), 76.5 mA (maximum)
Connected standby (RS232 transceiver off) Mode- 3.5 mA (Average), 53 mA (maximum)
Waiting to connect Mode- 39.1 mA (Average), 55.9 mA (maximum)
Waiting to connect standby (RS232 transceiver off) Mode- 2.3 mA (Average), 19.1 mA.
